Anna’s Wings is the heartbreaking story of Anna and her beloved husband, Sheriff Leo Skinner as they face her valiant fight against the disease, Alzheimer’s. Also during this time, Leo who is African American and “not getting any younger,” according to his campaign manager, Jimbo Smart, is battling to be reelected Sheriff of Boone County, Indiana. As Anna becomes more and more ravaged by the disease, she asks the impossible which is for Leo to assist her in committing suicide. As a result of Anna’s wish, Leo is put in the unimaginable position of giving the love of his life the last thing she ever asks of him, and battling with his own sense of morality, not to mention his undying love for Anna.
CAST MIJIZA HOLIDAY(ANNA SKINNER) A resident of Indianapolis, Mijiza has performed at the Indianapolis Civic, Madame C.J. Walker, Phoenix and Indiana Repertory Theatres. She has worked with Picture-This and Inter-Act, an educational impromptu theatre group she co-founded. She has starred in Most Valuable Player and Woman of Truth and worked with the Asante Children’s Theatre as a choreographer. She would like to dedicate this performance to her Aunt Anna Reese who is struggling with Alzheimer’s and to her cousin Teresa Reeves who died from the disease.
KEVIN JOHNSON (LEO SKINNER) Kevin, a resident of Indianapolis, is an actor, director and artist, whose art is displayed in Indiana; Memphis, TN; San Francisco, CA; Whitefield, NH; and Lincolnshire, England. Kevin has acted at numerous theatres including the Phoenix Theatre, Indiana Repertory Theatre, The Weathervane Summer-Stock Theatre, The Indianapolis Opera Company, Soul People Repertory Theatre, Actors Inc., The Memphis Black Repertory Theatre, NoExit Productions of Indianapolis. He has been an Assistant Director and Director of The Asante Children’s Theatre.
TAMARA TAZZ BREEDING-GOODE (RACHEL HARDEN) Tamara resides in Indianapolis, and is the proud single mother and grandmother of two beautiful children, as well as a Personal Chef. An avid lover of the arts, TaMara has directed/co-directed and performed for an assortment of small productions, won local poetry contests, and has been a workshop facilitator of poetry. A writer of fiction, poetry, theatrical and screenplays, her play Reflections was a semifinalist in the Indy Fringe/2nd Annual Onyx Festival for African-American Playwrights in 2013. Timeless: Through the Eyes of a Poet is her debut novel and she is currently developing a short erotica series Tales of Arabia Knight. Her newest adventure is learning and performing stand-up comedy.
ZACH RAMSEY (JIMBO SMART) Zach resides in Indianapolis, and has been in productions of Little Shop of Horrors, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Winnie the Pooh. He has also been the backstage manager for numerous productions at the Wayne Township Community Theatre.
